About
nexARound Guides covers remote and unusual places: the long roads, extreme places and villages that most travel sites skip.
Most travel guides cover the same few hundred places. We cover the others: a 2,702 km road across the Nullarbor, a village where winter falls below −50 °C, an island with no airport. Places where good information is hard to find and bad information can end a trip.
What you'll find here
- Road trips measured leg by leg, with fuel gaps and free stops marked.
- Extreme places: the coldest, wettest, highest and most isolated places people live, and how to get there.
- Remote villages at the end of the road, and how to visit them with respect.
- Free stops: lookouts, rest areas, ruins and springs that cost nothing.
- Know-how: permits, fuel range, water and travelling without phone signal.
Who we are
nexARound Guides is published by NEXAROUND TECHNOLOGIES LLC, the team behind the nexARound app, an AI travel companion with the Odyssey trip planner, Neva and AR landmark recognition. The guides and the app work together: read about a route here, then plan it day by day in the app.
How we research and check each guide is set out in our editorial policy. Some links on this site are affiliate links; see our affiliate disclosure.
